How do I use the online catalog?

You can search the Masdar Institute Library catalog with the following types of searches: Title, Author, Subject, ISBN, Series, or Call number.

How many books can I borrow and for how long?

Students are allowed to borrow seven items for one month; faculty are allowed to borrow 10 items for one semester and staff are allowed for five items for one month.

What online databases are available?

There are a number of online databases available for faculty and students to access. Please refer to our Masdar Institute Library Electronic Information Resources Access page in the “Resources” section of the Masdar Institute Library website for more information.

Where can I return a book I have borrowed?

All borrowed library materials should be returned to the Circulation Desk on level 1 of the Library.

How can I renew a book?

You can renew your books by logging in to your account through the My Library Account page. There is a “Renewal” option beside the list of book(s) that you have borrowed. Click “Renew” in order to renew the book for another 1 month. For further information, refer to the How-To guides which are located in the “Help” section of the Masdar Institute Library website.

How can I get a book that someone else has checked out (how do I place an item on hold)?

After logging in to your account through theLibrary catalog, you can place a book on hold by clicking on the “place a hold” option, which is available on the right top of the screen. For additional information you can also refer to the How-To guides which are located in the “Help” section of the Masdar Institute Library website.

How can I get an article not owned by our Masdar Institute Library?

If the article is not owned by Masdar Institute Library, then the Library will process your request through the Document Delivery Services.
